The future has always been our business. Our particular perspective has been the future we want. So we marshalled over 2000 leaders of various professions and asked them what they would dream could happen to our planet if we chose to focus on it.

In The Beginning...
GREETINGS I am Jim Channon and I work for the planet. I live on the side of a mountain in a botanical oasis that is like a paradise to me and the mix of friends who share this reality with me. We feel as if we are in the NEXT WORLD. We say paradise is just a great landscaping job. Living in a temple means adding altars to your house. And, being in heaven is being in paradise with the friends you love to be with. As a global elder ...I came to understand some hopeful signs for the future of this planet earth. For in my broad experience with over 2000 global leaders I have been privileged to call forth from them... their best ideas about the positive future of planet earth.... I simply asked that question ..and they willingly answered without reservation. Be careful not to wait for governments to get us to paradise ...they are not purposed to do that and do not have the correct departments to make it happen.

I have been solicited the dreams of leaders everywhere for over 35 years. As I consequence I had to build a concise way to properly record their dreams both for their workforces and for the planet. Doing this I became a pioneer of creating strategic visions on large visual maps. If you care about your dreams it is wise to place them in the most empowering formats possible and that is what I have come to share with you today. I want to reveal some powerful secrets about the way our finest ideas can be rendered so they have maximum impact. They include maps, strategic cultural elements, and a final declaration of intent.

For the record ...I have mapped the ideas of generals who were discovering how to repair the biosphere like a global Marshall plan... using the military resources available to them now. I have recorded the thinking of ten fortune 100 firms who never refused to answer the WHAT IS YOUR HIGHER PURPOSE ? I have answered the call of mayors who wanted their cities revitalized. And occasionally have done the visions of world leaders you would easily recognize. And during my most recent times collected the finest visions of landcrafters everywhere so we can fashion this world into the paradise of our dreams. On the land, but in position to create botanical oasis footprints, suburbs that feed themselves, and cities that reintroduce forests.

I began life as an American boy studying French from an Irish woman in a British school while living in Greece with my father. This is poly-ethnic to say the least. I also studied abstract expressionism in college while managing fraternity weekend celebrations and simultaneously creating editorial cartoons for the college paper. Mix in with that Military Science where I got my commission as an officer of Infantry and lettering in track and field in the afternoons. This is poly functional. I attended 18 schools in my first nine grades. I have three masters degrees and know 100 officers friends from fifty countries. This is poly-mythical from the Greek polymath. Are you beginning to see why I am five miles wide and several feet deep? It just happens to be the best preparation for doing global visioning. I am a polymath ...multifaceted intelligence. As was my mentor Bucky Fuller.
The First Earth Battalion is born.
The History of Social Architecture began when Evolutionary Tactics, the manual was published in 1978. It was a cultural and creative catalog of Human Excellence and a field manual for the mythical FIRST EARTH BATTALION in the US Army.

Members of the think tank Task Force Delta working out of the Army War College imagined a future army that served the planet. They saw their roles in this new culture as saviors of the biosphere. So, a mythical unit was now scrimmaging with a future possibility.
Thirty years later, this innovative champaign caught Hollywood's eye when George Clooney bought the screen[play MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS written by brittish satirist Jon Ronson. Hence, mythology as a place to dream became a clever roast of the US army by the Jedi of Hollywood. There the creative blitzkrieg became a legend in creative courage.
Some of the key points of Social Architecture include Mythology, Future Vision, Heroes, Icons, Logos and Drama when possible... the best story always wins.
Creating a Higher Purpose for Civilization
There once was a social architect. This ardent earth adventurer thought it was possible to evolve everything that human beings were up to. First was to upgrade the nature of humankind by changing the name we give ourselves from home sapiens to homo evolutis. This way the talking heads would soon take on other senses and and leave their purely fundamentalist ways. Then the notion of aiming our civilization at life force living came to him and homo sentiens came to be.
Jim sits gazing at his story book view while being surrounded and bathed in the opulence that soothes his Life Force and brings joy to his heart. it includes color, sounds of the outdoor leaves in the wind, and 20 other influences and sensations he values.
Strategic Vision
Over the years I have discovered many forms of presenting grand visions to large groups who must carry them forward. Those forms are the subject of my work with social architecture today. These are ideas that can help make your fondest ideas come true. They can move a village or a bioregion ...all the pieces are there.

First, let me share some images to give you an idea of what a strategic vision is. Ideally it is composed of critically examined DYNAMIC STRATEGIC THINKING, then PLATFORMS are selected to place the thinking open that give sequence and order to the execution. Then the map itself is peppered with CULTURAL SYMBOLS to lock in the relevance to the audience. Finally, the entire set of ideas can be written as a DECLARATION to be read by the best voice possible. Music helps especially if the speaker can pace the voice with the music and ride the amplitude! This is the tool set for you would be social architects and strategic designers out there.
You might be thinking at this point ...this could be useful if I were a king or potentate of some sort …YES … it just depends on how serious you are about getting the most important part of any enterprise out there in the most potent form possible. This is decidedly how new ideas can penetrate the fabric of older traditions. That's the game here and modern laptop tools can get you there with ease. Here below is a summary of the mindset you must become facile with and aim at the level of civilization your care to upgrade.

1. HIGHER PURPOSE

Here we create the most lofty call to action we can imagine. The higher purpose pulls the effort forward by its shear capacity to enthrall the players. It is noble...it is vital...it is challenging. It is usually found under the corporate logo, or the military crest, or on the facade of the entrance to a complex. For planet earth I choose LIFEFORCE LIVING to bring the Lifeforce of all sentient beings into a high state.

2. SUPER-ORDINATE GOAL
Here we establish direction. This goal is the one goal that is the linchpin for all the other strategic thrusts to align with.
I choose TO SEE THE EARTH AS PARADISE given to the World Business Academy vision by Robert Muller and his wife.
3. PARADIGM SHIFT
If there is a change of thinking needed to bring the players to the table in a bigger way then create that new view and bring it into the picture. I choose TO SHIFT FROM NATIONAL SECURITY TO NATURAL SECURITY.. 4. TIPPING POINTS
If there is a way to kick start the larger vision to help humanity discover it and see that it is attended to. I select

These are the multiple avenues of advance that we together must accomplish to assure completion of the vision.

6. CATALYSTS
These are enabling phenomena like the world wide web which could be the tool of choice for the next world. Many believe the next form of real democracy for the planet is actually being accomplished by a webocracy RIGHT NOW. The army began social net working in 1978 and the web is achieving more and more success. Everyday producing a grand democracy for our planet.
7. MEMES
Triggering words to rally the culture. GOPLANET was just such a rallying cry that was given to Captain Planet in the syndicated cartoon of the early 90's It was global rescue in action. It was the primal call to action.
Now to end this set of ideas we will review a sample of a dozen ideas written into a compelling summary. THE DECLARATION was presented in column one. Review its contents to get a sense of the parameters of our interests as Social Architects.

I used to say I wanted to live the country, on a small farm, and have a pond with ducks in it.

I am not interested in a botanical oasis and loaded with undulating meadows connected by serpentine corridors of mixed fruit waiting to be picked.​

​I used to think it would be nice to be in a neighborhood where people all had the same values and mowed their lawns with some care.

I am much more interested now in a family of choice that shares a homestead that feels like a shire and everyone has a small dwelling they can move because it's portable. We all share some larger zones where we create food, art, and business of sorts.​

I used to think it was better just to have my blood family around and the sooner the kids left the better.

Now, I want to enjoy the company of folk who believe whatever their age that we can all enjoy a beautiful and productive natural setting abundant animal life and playful activities while being resilient enough to be able to survive in tough times. They are people who share a similar sense of Lifeforce and seek to enable that in others.​

​​I used to think that a trip to the mall on the weekend was just the ticket. We would wander around with shopping carts and try to keep the kids from whining.

Now, I want a global village with a micro-politan zone and a broad range of ethnic treats all interwoven with music enough to both dance and sing out loud to if desired. We carry our reusable bags and wend our way home through a luscious park in an electric vehicle.

​I used to say I want a nice ranch house where everything is on one floor and the furniture is period and all leads to a dining room with a china cabinet in it. Then Thanksgiving and Christmas will be what we always expected.

Now, I want a place that has more little buildings all painted different colors and having playful individual themes. There is a treehouse for the kids and plenty of nooks to be alone and each person can find their space between meals that are provided round a giant country table.

​​I used to think I needed an exercise routine on a professional gizmo where I sweat myself with great effort in accord with a preordained plan.

Now, I think more of including a wide range of playful activities all designed into my designer forest which is less than an acre and just has as many ​ambidextrous, invigorating tasks to activate my neural pathways stimulating as many of them as possible.

​​I used to think it was critical for nation states to stay true to a particular kind of heritage and set of beliefs.

Then, I discovered that there was gold in every spiritual belief system and that God was too miraculous to stick in any one box. Former national boundaries created by plunder were also not congruently manageable like more homogeneous bioregions.

So, the upshot of all the new distinctions you have is that you will be able to design and live in the paradise of your choice... no matter what else you decide to do.
